Talking to my author friends, I  found that many of them were dealing with the same issues.  Paying outrageous prices for shoddy editing that actually made their manuscripts look worse.
As an author, we know the importance of editing. It's the most essential part of publishing. Because an unpolished book,  full of mistakes is not a book that readers will read.
More often than not, we're simply too close to our work to spot the little things that we ourselves don't see as we write. For this reason, we need that extra set of eyes to help us  polish our manuscripts before we send it to publishing.
